Navy Tablecloth

I’m sharing my dining room chandelier and table, simply dressed for the upcoming season. The look is relaxed, cozy, and easy to host around—perfect for holiday gatherings.

I typically begin “winter decorating” just before Thanksgiving so the home feels warm and welcoming through both holidays. We host family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I like to keep things intentionally cozy. Greenery plays a big role for both Thanksgiving and the season leading into Christmas; it adds a fresh, natural touch that feels festive without being overdone.

The room reads both festive and peaceful, which sets the tone for celebrating the season and counting our blessings with gratitude.

You can learn how to decorate, open your home for hosting, and embrace each season at home at HomeBody Gathering Place.

Below I’ll list the sources I used to create this space.

Centerpiece Details:

Seeded glass hurricane

Decorative bowl (I purchased mine online; availability may vary)

Decorative sedum balls or similar moss balls—great for adding texture and a natural feel

Floating candles to create a soft glow

Chartreuse candles for a subtle pop of color

Small brass fox and brass bunny bowls to hold seasonal accents

I filled the small bowls and dishes with faux apples, dried orange slices, and pinecones gathered from our yard to keep the arrangement natural and budget-friendly.

Simple wreaths on the windows add balance and a finished look to the room.

Chandelier Decor Details:

Classic chandelier as the centerpiece lighting for the table

A star garland adds whimsical sparkle and complements the chandelier’s shape

Faux cedar garland wrapped around the chandelier brings in evergreen texture without the maintenance

Plaid ribbon tied through the garland adds a cozy, seasonal pattern; check availability if a favorite pattern sells out

More Details:

Gingham pillows on the bench provide a country feel and extra comfort; block-print pillows add subtle pattern and interest.

A rattan lidded basket on the shelves is both decorative and practical, helping keep the space tidy while adding natural texture.

A handful of favorite home and garden coffee table books help tell the room’s story and offer seasonal inspiration for guests.

A small gingerbread village and paper trees bring a playful, nostalgic touch that makes the room feel welcoming to all ages.

A rattan cart styled with a small lamp, a blue-and-white planter, and a tabletop tree acts as a vignette and extra serving station when entertaining.
