It’s surprising how disruptive it feels when painters and contractors turn your home upside down. Even though I’m excited to start the projects, moving around becomes awkward when furniture is wrapped in plastic or squished into another room. Last week, knowing the painters were about to arrive, we made a point of enjoying one last meal at the table before the chaos began. I was especially grateful we had a Blue Apron meal ready to prepare.

You can see the state our living room was in while the painters worked—our dining table was temporarily lost in the mess. That night, with a Blue Apron recipe in hand, we sat down and enjoyed a relaxed dinner together. Blue Apron makes it easy to have a fresh, thoughtfully prepared meal without the shopping and measuring hassle.

Our meal that evening was seared chicken with miso udon noodles, served alongside sautéed sugar snap peas and pea tips. Admittedly, I hadn’t cooked with udon noodles before, but the recipe was clear and approachable. Blue Apron encourages trying new ingredients and techniques, which is perfect for someone who wants to expand beyond a few familiar dishes.
I love ordering from Blue Apron because each box brings a new recipe or ingredient to discover. The convenience of having everything pre-measured and ready to cook saves time and reduces stress. This meal converted me into an udon fan—simple to prepare and full of flavor.

This particular dish wasn’t something I would have chosen on my own, yet it turned out to be delicious and easy to make. My daughter Courtney and I always enjoy preparing Blue Apron meals together. The process is fun, and everyone in the house starts asking when dinner will be ready because the meals are consistently good.

Along with the meal kit, we tried a couple of items from the Blue Apron Market. The thick Boos cutting board is wonderful and the sharp knife that came from the market made prep faster and more enjoyable. High-quality tools make a noticeable difference in the kitchen.

Blue Apron delivers farm-fresh ingredients in a refrigerated box right to your door, offering both convenience and quality. The meals are designed to be prepared in about 40 minutes, which fits well into busy weeknights. Options include two-person plans and family plans, with menus that typically range from 500–800 calories per person. Ingredients come from trusted suppliers and artisans, and the packaging is recyclable.
