Charming White Cottage Kitchen Ideas for Cozy Country Homes

House Beautiful

TI’ve always been drawn to white cottage kitchens. My previous kitchen was white; my current one features natural wood. I may change it again someday, though I’m undecided about what that would look like. I love the clean, timeless feel of white but I’m also fond of colored kitchens—once I painted cabinets green and loved the result.

Traditional Home

I’ve also become partial to black knobs and hardware. Many kitchens use nickel or silver pulls, but I love the graphic contrast that black provides against white cabinetry. Over time I’ve shared many posts about white kitchens as well as kitchens with personality and ideas like striped rugs in white spaces.

Finding Inspiration

Inspiration comes from many places. That’s the heart of this blog: sharing ideas and sources of inspiration. Still, locating something you remember from a past post can be tricky if you don’t know where to search.

If you want to find a post you saw here before, there are a few helpful tools.

One option is the archive, which can be useful. I’ve also added a more targeted tool that can make it easier to locate specific content you saw here.

Look for the Google search box in the upper right sidebar—you’ll need to visit The Inspired Room directly if you read via RSS or email to use it.

Type a word or phrase that relates to what you’re searching for.

Try terms like decorating with red, colored walls, bedrooms, Valentine’s Day, or any specific theme. While the search may not always return exactly what you expect, it often uncovers posts and ideas you might enjoy revisiting.

Note: search results sometimes include reader comments that mention the search terms but don’t necessarily reflect the post content. If you see a result about “blue walls,” for example, it might just be a commenter describing her own space.

Still, if I’ve written about a topic or mentioned it in a post, the search often finds it. I’ve enjoyed exploring three years of posts that way—Google has a remarkable memory.

I feel like I’m only getting started with topics I want to explore and share here. Blogging continues to be a joy.

Let me know if the search bar helps you find what you’re looking for. I may tweak posts so they’re easier to locate.
