TI’ve always loved a white cottage kitchen. My previous kitchen was white; my current one is natural wood. Someday I may change it again—I adore white but I also appreciate color. I once painted my cabinets green and loved how they turned out.

I’m also drawn to black knobs in a kitchen. Many kitchens I see use nickel or silver pulls, but I love the high-contrast look of black against white. Over the years I’ve shared many posts about white kitchens and kitchen personality, including ideas like striped rugs in white kitchens.
Finding Inspiration
So many things inspire me. That’s the purpose of this blog—I enjoy sharing inspiration every day. Still, locating older posts can be tricky if you don’t know where to look.
Want to find something you saw here before?
One option is the archives, but there’s an easier way I’ve recently added. In the upper right sidebar of my site you’ll find a Google search bar that can help you find past posts more precisely. If you read this blog by RSS or email, visit The Inspired Room to use it.
Type one or more keywords into the search box that match what you’re looking for—terms like decorating with red, colored walls, bedrooms, Valentine’s Day, or any other topic. The search often surfaces posts or mentions that can lead you to ideas you might enjoy.
Note: Sometimes search results display reader comments that include the keywords but not the post content itself. If you see a phrase like “blue walls” in a result, it could be from a comment rather than the post. Don’t be discouraged—often the search will find the relevant posts if I mentioned the topic in a post.
I’ve been using the search to revisit three years of content and it’s fun to see recurring themes. Google can be a great tool to remember what I’ve written about and uncover ideas I might want to expand on.
I still have so many subjects I want to explore. Blogging feels like the beginning of a long conversation—I’m excited to keep sharing and learning.
