Isn’t Jack handsome with his new spring haircut? I certainly think so.
He was a little miffed about being left at the groomer for his trim.
At first, he didn’t see what the big deal was about getting a haircut.
Then he caught his reflection in the mirror and suddenly understood — he looked very handsome.
Coincidentally, this weekend I also opened the front door to a very different kind of “handsome” animal: a brand-new Dyson Animal vacuum. The timing couldn’t have been better.
Fair warning: the next picture is a little gross.

That pile is what I pulled from the carpet the first time I used the Dyson.
I know you might be thinking, “Ew — that was in her carpet?”
Yes. Honestly, yes.
We hadn’t vacuumed in quite a while; our old Kirby had been donated to our church some time ago. Still, seeing that much dust and dog hair was a shock. Gross!
Imagine how much worse it would have been if Jack were a heavy shedder. He’s supposed to be a low-to-no-shed breed — which makes me even more grateful that the Dyson picked up so much debris. That performance convinced me this vacuum is a keeper; I don’t plan to part with it anytime soon.
Disclosure: I was not paid for an endorsement, though Dyson did provide the vacuum for review. I accepted it out of pure desperation — I needed to be able to vacuum my home again. After seeing what was hiding in my carpets, who could blame me? Spring cleaning was definitely overdue.
After using the Dyson, I genuinely love it. The Dyson Animal is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and gives great control. It delivered on everything I expected and then some.
As for the white fluffy Goldendoodle, he’s a different story.
Disclosure: Jack is neither lightweight nor easy to control. He doesn’t always do what I expect. We paid full price for him, and despite his antics we’ll keep him. He starts puppy school on Monday — there is hope! Last week he helped himself to tuna casserole, and this week he managed to eat a dime.
Coming up this week: my new curtains and the fantastic new chairs I just got for my office (YIPPEE!), plus a reveal of my spring mantel.
Question:
Do you have a dog that sheds, and how do you keep your home clean with pets?
