Day 20: Unplug and Enjoy Reading for a Calmer Holiday Season

II admit I sometimes feel guilty after posting so many “things to do” during this series. Even though it’s just a blog and part of a 31-day project, I worry I’m overwhelming you with tasks and ideas. I catch myself thinking about it throughout the day—imagining you trying to keep up with every suggestion. That thought makes me laugh and also reminds me to slow down.

This fall shouldn’t be only about preparing for the holidays. It’s also a season for enjoying simple pleasures and savoring moments. Today I want to step back and encourage you to do the same.

Take a breather and savor the day.

Turn off your computer for a while if you can, and spend time doing something you genuinely enjoy at home.

What would you most like to do today?

Read a book? Take a nap? Tinker in the garden or putter about the house?

Are there any books you’re planning to read this fall and winter? I’d love to hear your recommendations.

The rest of the 31-day series can be found on the original blog where it began.
