Getting Back on Track: How to Catch Up Quickly and Stay Current

The London Plane - Seattle

Hey friends!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day. I enjoyed an extended Mother’s Week, taking a short working vacation to spend time with family in Seattle. I balanced work with leisurely moments—coffee at neighborhood cafés, meals at a variety of restaurants, walks along the water, and plenty of driving around to admire Seattle homes. You’ll see some photos from the trip throughout this post.

Between projects I squeezed in small pockets of free time—doing a bit of gardening at home, sipping lattes while catching up on emails, and exploring new and familiar eateries. The city offered the perfect backdrop for creative energy and relaxation in equal measure, and of course I spent some time photographing spots and scenes that inspired me.

I’m not quite done traveling yet. For the next two days my daughters and I will be at Harvest House Publishers in Eugene, Oregon, working on the layout and design for my upcoming coffee table book. We made a quick stop in Portland on the way and treated ourselves to ice cream after browsing our favorite bookstore, Powell’s.

We are thrilled to be involved in the design process for our own coffee table book, which is scheduled for release in October. Over the past months we’ve written the manuscript, photographed more than twelve hundred images of our home, and spent many hours selecting the strongest photos to share with our design team. It’s been a labor of love and it’s exciting to see everything coming together at last.

We’ll see you back here tomorrow with a drive-by tour of some beautiful Seattle houses!
