One project I’m looking forward to this spring is creating a pathway from our deck to the garden shed. With more time at home these days, it feels like the perfect season to start, and my college-aged son being around might make it an easy weekend project.

I’m imagining a gently curved pea gravel path — simple, low-maintenance, and charming. Once the path is in place I’d love to add planting beds and border plants along the route to create a little garden walk.
I also dream about turning the shed into a cozy potting space, neatly organized with shelves for tools and pots. Right now it’s serving as extra storage for holiday items and cushion overflow, so that makeover might need to wait a bit. Still, a tidy potting shed is firmly on the wishlist.
A girl can dream, right?
We’ve already given the shed a “first phase” refresh. If you don’t recall what it looked like when we moved in, here’s a reminder of its original state:
Paint really is transformational — it instantly lifts and refreshes an outdoor structure.

One of my favorite inspiration photos comes from French Country Cottage; the planting and layered landscaping around the shed are things I hope to emulate in my own yard.
