Materials: mini canvases (craft store), black marker, gold paint, paintbrush.
Step 1: Write each guest’s name on a mini canvas using the black marker. Allow the ink to dry fully.
Step 2: Lightly drag a paintbrush with gold paint across the top of the canvas lettering. Use a gentle hand so the gold highlights the names without covering them.
I leaned each painted canvas against an ivory pumpkin for a simple, classic look. Ivory and white pumpkins feel timeless and transition perfectly from autumn décor into Thanksgiving without appearing Halloween-themed.
For the full tablescape I started with a gold runner, then layered natural placemats for warmth. I mixed metallic accents—spray-painted pumpkins in metallic gold and silver—with collected candlestick holders and fall-colored candles. Each setting included china, a wine glass plus a decorative gold goblet, gold flatware, and a cloth napkin. Small details, like a striped straw in the goblet, add a playful touch.
Notes: Most items shown were gathered from around the home or sourced from common decor retailers. Mixing gold and silver metallics creates an inviting, modern look—don’t be afraid to blend finishes for visual interest. Simple changes like metallic-painted pumpkins and collected candlesticks elevate an everyday table into something festive.
