New York Times Bestseller: How It Works and Why It Matters

Love the Home You Have - New York Times Best Seller - The Inspired Room

I visited my daughters in Seattle yesterday so we could get our nails done and enjoy some girl time. While we stopped for lunch, I received a message from my friend Ann Voskamp telling me she had just noticed that Love the Home You Have had appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list. At first I couldn’t believe it. We pulled the car over to make sure we were reading it correctly — and yes, we had to Google the list to confirm — because it felt impossible. My book? Love the Home You Have? On the New York Times Best Sellers list?

It turns out the book has been on the list for a few weeks and I simply didn’t know — a newbie author thing, I suppose. I keep glancing back at the list to reassure myself there wasn’t a mistake. There it is, alongside several other books I love and want to read.

I want to say thank you so much for helping make this possible. Without your support — sharing the book, recommending it to friends, leaving kind reviews — none of this would have happened for a first-time author like me. This past year has been full of surprises and moments I never imagined. I still have to pinch myself sometimes.

The message of loving our homes and finding contentment with what we have matters deeply to me, and I’m so grateful it resonates with so many of you. I love seeing your Instagram posts with the hashtag #lovethehomeyouhave, your blog posts, and your thoughtful reviews. Thank you, friends, for being part of this journey and for making a dream like this come true.
