Scandinavian Dresser Styles to Create a Cozy, Modern Home

The Inspired Room Front Door Entry

I recently moved a dresser from our bedroom into the living room (see that post if you missed it). As promised, I’m back with a quick follow-up to share additional sources for similar dressers.

You might recall the vintage dresser I used to have in my previous home, pictured above. I still love its medallion-style pulls and overall shape. That dresser is still in my possession and will likely appear in my office or another room in the house at some point. Paint colors and a tour of the old house are available if you want to see more details about that space.

If you like the look shown here, these pieces are often described as Swedish or Gustavian style dressers. Whether originals, reproductions, or inspired modern pieces, I’m drawn to this clean, classic silhouette and the subtle carved details, so this roundup focuses on that aesthetic.

You can sometimes find authentic Swedish dressers secondhand. I found my vintage piece at a local shop, and shopping Craigslist, flea markets, or antique stores can yield great finds. If you prefer to update an existing dresser, a fresh coat of paint and new hardware are easy ways to achieve the same look.

If you don’t have time to hunt locally, or can’t find the exact style you want, I’ve compiled a list of online sources for Swedish-style dressers that I like. Here are options to consider.
