Happy Monday! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. Are you traveling anywhere this summer? I’m heading to the Haven Conference in Atlanta this week to mentor other bloggers, and otherwise we’ll most likely be enjoying a staycation in the Northwest. I love exploring my own city like a tourist — it’s a simple way to refresh a familiar routine.
Right now I’m part of a rug design competition, and the top ten designs with the most Instagram votes by this Thursday will be produced and sold by Annie Selke through Dash & Albert. That’s an incredible opportunity, and every vote matters in such a close contest.
I truly appreciate your support — whether you’ve already voted or are considering it, your encouragement means a lot. It’s been so rewarding to share this process with friends and readers, and I’m grateful for every single person who has helped spread the word.
Today I wanted to share some inspiration boards featuring one of my custom designs: a striped rug with a cross-trim border. I created three different styling looks so you can imagine how the rug might fit into varied rooms and decor styles.
I love rugs that adapt easily to different spaces. A versatile design that can be moved from room to room makes refreshing a room simple and cost-effective. Scroll through the boards below and see which look speaks to you.
At the end I added a lighthearted Photoshop experiment with our dogs on the rug mockups — because, of course, pets and rugs go hand in hand. They always want to be front and center whenever we take photos, so it was fun to imagine them as rug models.

I don’t normally enter design competitions — the pressure can feel intense — but this one was too exciting to pass up. Having a rug produced by Dash & Albert would be a meaningful milestone for my family and me, and I’m thrilled at the possibility.
