I’ve always loved pretty dishes and seasonal table settings, especially in spring. Today I’m excited to share a peek at our new spring and Easter tableware and accessories from Williams Sonoma.

Although our kitchen and dining room renovation isn’t finished, I’m already collecting favorite accessories and table settings so I’ll be ready when the rooms are. Decorating will be so much fun!
Our cabinets arrive this Friday, so things are getting close. I love dishes so much that a key priority for the new kitchen and dining design was ample display and storage for pretty pieces. We added glass-front cabinets, a dish display hutch, and dining room bookcases that double as storage for seasonal accessories.

When Williams Sonoma asked if we’d like to showcase some of their tabletop collections, we jumped at the chance. We discovered so many lovely pieces we couldn’t wait to share. We’ll style the finished rooms later, but here’s a little preview now.
You might wonder where this table is set when the renovation is in full swing. Honestly, the scene is chaotic—Courtney and I pulled the dining table into the torn-out kitchen and set everything up so we had a surface to photograph. It worked perfectly for a sneak peek.
SIX OF MY FAVORITE TABLE SETTING TIPS:

Mix and match table settings for a charming look
One of my favorite tips is to mix and match dishes. An informal mix of colors and patterns makes the table feel inviting and relaxed. Combining different pieces creates a collected, personal look instead of a perfectly matched set.

Build a dish collection over time
Mixing pieces is an easy way to grow a collection. You don’t need a full matching set—collect a variety of salad plates, bowls, pitchers, and platters to mix with daily dinnerware. Small, thoughtful additions turn your table into a layered, interesting display.

Create a mood board or try out options on your table!
To shape this spring look, we created a mood board with favorite pieces from different collections. That collected-over-time feel is what makes a tablescape so charming. You can make a digital mood board or simply lay pieces on the table and play—trying unexpected mixes and combinations is half the fun.

Tablecloth, napkins and chargers add more colors, patterns + textures
Start with a neutral linen tablecloth as a backdrop, then layer woven chargers, patterned napkins, and textured elements for depth. Chargers add warmth and texture, while colored or patterned napkins introduce seasonal pops. Collect table linens over time to vary your looks for different occasions.

Create special family memories around the table
Dishes and tabletop details can help shape family traditions. Setting an intentionally pretty table turns ordinary moments into memories—holiday brunches, egg hunts, and seasonal gatherings become more special when presented with charming plates and accessories.

In my book Simple Gatherings I discuss how small, thoughtful touches make gatherings more memorable. The nostalgic bunny accessories and seasonal treats we used for this table brought back memories of family Easters—dressing up, egg hunts, and long brunches with pretty dishes on the table.
Even amid renovation chaos, setting this table made us excited for the many family meals we’ll share in our refreshed home.

Dishes can make memories for generations to come
Dishes and glassware often carry family stories. The etched goblets and carafe we used reminded me of pieces my grandmother owned—those heirloom touches are so meaningful. I hope these pieces become part of our family’s traditions and are passed down with memories attached.
My kids have loved the small rituals—like scattering colorful foil chocolate eggs around the table—which make holidays playful and memorable no matter your age.

Williams Sonoma offers many seasonal treats and gifts that make lovely table accents. We sprinkled chocolate praline foil eggs around the table and filled a tiered egg treat jar with Bunny Bark for a festive touch—delicious and whimsical additions that bring a smile.

Mini chocolate egg cartons make adorable place settings or Easter basket additions—small touches that delight guests of all ages.
