New York Times Best Seller: Insider Secrets from Top Authors

Love the Home You Have - New York Times Best Seller - The Inspired Room

I visited my daughters in Seattle yesterday for a girls’ day out — we got our nails done and stopped for lunch. During our break I received a message from my friend Ann Voskamp who had just noticed that my book, Love the Home You Have, appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list. At first I couldn’t believe it. We pulled the car over, re-read the message, and yes — we even looked up the list online to make sure we weren’t imagining things. Seeing my name there felt unreal.

It turns out the book has been on the list for a few weeks and, as a new author, it didn’t occur to me to check. I kept looking back at the list to confirm it wasn’t a mistake. There it was — alongside several other titles I already own or want to read. What an incredible surprise.

I want to say thank you — truly thank you — to everyone who helped make this possible. Your support, sharing the book, and recommending it to friends are the reasons this happened for a first-time author. This past year has been full of unexpected opportunities and moments I never imagined. I still pinch myself sometimes.

The book’s message about loving our homes and finding contentment with what we already have is something I care deeply about, and I’m grateful it resonates with so many of you. I love seeing your Instagram posts using #lovethehomeyouhave, reading your blog posts, and discovering your thoughtful reviews. Thank you, friends, for being part of this journey.

If you’ve shared the book with someone or posted about it, please know how much your encouragement means. Together we’re celebrating the small joys of home and learning to appreciate the spaces we live in. Your enthusiasm has made this milestone possible, and I’m so grateful for every one of you.
