Did you hear the news?
My kitchen isn’t completely finished yet, so the full reveal will have to wait (although it’s already feeling cozy as I style the glass cabinets). But this news is even more exciting than a kitchen reveal.
This February, I’m going to be a grandma!
My empty nest won’t feel so empty anymore — my daughter Courtney is having a baby!

Above is the nursery in the townhouse Courtney and her husband recently moved into — I adore that little window seat.

The last six months have been full of projects — kitchen renovations, new flooring, fresh paint, and work on the Tiny Cottage. I’m grateful we finished the major projects before the pitter-patter of tiny feet arrives.
Waiting on contractors left me feeling a bit unsettled for a while, but the final punch list should be wrapped up soon. When a house is in transition, it throws me off, especially when we have to move things around for painters and other trades.
Despite the disruption, we’ve been making steady progress. One of the highlights has been styling the glass cabinets and open shelves. I’ll share a full post on that soon, but here’s a peek. I’ve always loved collecting dishes but haven’t had a proper place to display them in a long time. Designing cabinets to showcase seasonal pieces and treasured collections, with plenty of drawers to hide the everyday items, was a priority in the new kitchen. I look forward to changing these displays with each season—personal collections truly make a house feel like home.

No matter how the remaining projects go this week, next week I plan to enjoy puttering around my new kitchen. The reveal photos are coming soon, and of course I’ll be fall nesting. Who’s ready to talk about all things cozy? I was this close to turning on the fireplace today.
One more update: there’s just one final day to join our fall and holiday session in HomeBody Gathering Place — I’d love to have you join us. It’s a special membership community filled with custom resources and mini-courses created and led by me, with help from my two daughters.
HomeBody Gathering Place provides practical, beautiful, and meaningful resources to support creating a sanctuary at home.
We close enrollment Thursday to begin our fall session together and won’t open again until the new year. Now is the last chance to join for the season.

If you love creating a sanctuary, enjoy home projects, want weekly check-ins, custom mini-courses, and pretty seasonal downloads to help organize and refine your home-keeping skills, the HomeBody Gathering Place is designed for you. We celebrate puttering, decorating, hospitality, and seasonal rhythms.
You don’t need Facebook to participate, though we offer an optional private Facebook group for those who enjoy community interaction, accountability, and asking questions. Otherwise, members access resources and mini-courses from a private dashboard and receive a weekly member email with updates.
