Hi friends! Thank you so much for all your kind messages — we truly appreciate your support as our family settles into this new home. Many of you have followed along for years, and your encouragement means the world. Consider this a warm virtual invitation to come in and see our new space.
This house came partially furnished, so while our belongings are still at the other house, we already have enough furniture to feel comfortable. Some pieces will stay, some will go to the kids, and a few we’ll pass along. When we officially move, we’ll combine items we love from our previous home with what’s already here.
Even with cozy furnishings in place, one of my first priorities was to make this house feel more like ours — and to start fall nesting. Since most of our accessories are packed or at the other house, I did some online shopping at Walmart for a few affordable pieces to help warm up the entry and porch. Choosing and arranging these touches made the house feel like home almost immediately.
I’ll share decor sources throughout and list everything at the end.

One of my favorite simple ways to bring fall to an entry is with a seasonal wreath. I loved the texture and variety in this wreath — pumpkins, colorful leaves, berries, pinecones, wheat, feathers and burlap give it a layered, natural look. A neighbor stopped by to compliment it right away. It was a great find and set the tone for the porch.

We added a jute rug in the entry and instantly felt more warmth and coziness underfoot. Natural fiber rugs are an easy way to ground a small space and add texture without overwhelming it.

I miss my porch lantern and Dutch doors, but I’m thrilled with this charming front porch — it will be so fun to decorate each season. There’s room for a bench, which serves as a great anchor piece. Ours was already here, but a similar bench works perfectly for styling.
A fresh doormat is the simplest update for seasonal front-door styling. You can layer rugs for more dimension, or keep it simple with one good mat. With so many extravagant porch ideas online, it’s easy to feel pressure to go all out, but often simple, thoughtful touches are enough to create a welcoming entry.
We chose a doormat that isn’t overly seasonal so it can work across multiple times of year — practical and pretty.

I found a woven textured throw pillow that looked lovely on the bench and also softened the hard surfaces of the porch. It was in a limited-time section with great affordable finds, so I like checking that collection often for new options.
I tried a black lantern in a few spots on the porch and liked how it looked everywhere. Lanterns add a soft evening glow — battery-operated outdoor candles make them effortless and safe to use.

This rattan basket looked so cute with a patterned tassel throw inside. I set it on the porch, and not long after my husband was wrapped up in the blanket in the living room — exactly the cozy intention behind adding blankets around the house.

Jack and Lily are loving the new house and all their new lookout spots. Jack, especially, enjoys staying cozy inside — he’s a homebody like me and has taken to lounging on the textured jute rug.

I also fell for a white-and-beige ceramic lamp for the entry table. It’s the perfect compact size for a small space, well made, and adds evening warmth to the entry — lamps are one of my staple finishing touches in an entryway.
SO COZY!

I love that we’re moving into this home in the fall. While the neighborhood is beautiful year-round, autumn brings a cozy feeling that really suits our family — evenings by the fire and relaxed, snuggly nights feel like home.
