Can you believe my fiddle leaf fig is still growing? I moved it to the dining room while we had the Christmas tree up, and I worried the change would upset it. Instead, the tree kept thriving and even produced a new leaf this week.
This fiddle leaf was barely hanging on when we moved here. I had lost a couple of its siblings at our old house, and this one looked pretty scrawny. But look at it now—what a turnaround. It’s doing beautifully, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Yesterday the sun came out here in Seattle and it felt like spring had arrived indoors and out. The plants seemed to perk up, sunlight warmed the room, and the birds were chirping. That brief burst of sunshine lifted my spirits and gave me a welcome boost of vitamin D. I know more rainy days will follow, but I savored the warm light while it lasted.
On the topic of staying healthy at home, I mentioned last week that I would share my personal health story and explain why a healthy home matters to me. I received several messages from readers on a similar journey, so I posted the full story for anyone who wants to read it. If you’re interested, you can find it on my site.
I’ve also been sharing a mini series about keeping a happy, healthy winter home on my Instagram @pureandlovelyliving. If you don’t use Instagram, I’ve been posting the same content on Facebook. I’d love for you to join the conversation.
