Cozy Winter Cider Sangria Recipe for Holiday Gatherings

Holiday Sangria Recipe - The Inspired Room

Greetings! Here’s a festive and delicious drink recipe that’s become a favorite in our home. We love cider, and this sangria brings together crisp apples, bright citrus and seasonal cranberries for a cheerful winter beverage. I’m sharing it now — perfect for Christmas, New Year’s, or any gathering through the holidays.

We first made this over Thanksgiving and later posted a photo on social media. Many asked for the recipe, so I’m finally sharing it here. It’s easy to prepare, looks lovely in a pitcher, and can be served as written or made alcohol-free by omitting the wine and bourbon.

Festive Holiday Sangria:

You will need:

1 Granny Smith apple, chopped

1 Honeycrisp apple, chopped

1 orange, chopped (rind can be left on)

1–2 cups whole cranberries

1 bottle Pinot Grigio

1 bottle sparkling apple cider

1/2 cup bourbon (optional)

Rosemary sprigs for garnish

Directions:

Combine the chopped apples, orange, cranberries, Pinot Grigio, sparkling apple cider and bourbon (if using) in a large pitcher. Stir well to mix the flavors, then chill until ready to serve.

Garnish each glass with a rosemary sprig. For a festive touch, dampen a sprig with water and roll it in sugar so it sparkles on the rim.

Enjoy this bright, seasonal sangria throughout the holidays. It’s easily adapted to be non-alcoholic — simply omit the wine and bourbon and replace with additional sparkling cider or a non-alcoholic white wine alternative.
