TThis time of year invites reflection as we review the months behind us and look ahead to what’s next—this year even marks the end of a decade. It’s a moment to be intentional about the experiences we want to cultivate for ourselves, our homes, and the small part of the world we call our own.
There’s a lot to consider.
What do we truly want the coming year to feel like—personally, for our daily life, and for the way our home supports us?
For many years I’ve shared a Home Goals worksheet here at The Inspired Room to make New Year’s resolutions feel simpler and more focused on what really matters.

As we move into 2020, I’m excited to invite you into something new and deeply personal to me: My Year of Dwelling Well. I hope this series will resonate with you—it will shape my focus for the year across the blog, my home, my health, and daily life.

Many people begin the year with ambitious resolutions and boundless energy, only to lose momentum in a few weeks. I prefer a gentler, more sustainable method—building new habits, mindsets, and rhythms through small, achievable steps.
I invite you to join me in My Year of Dwelling Well. This goes beyond a blog series or a short-lived challenge; it’s a way of life focused on creating a calmer, healthier, more intentional home and self.
I’ll share parts of my Dwelling Well journey on the blog, on Instagram, and in my community groups, and I encourage you to pursue your own version of this journey, tailored to what matters most to you.
My Year of Dwelling Well is an invitation to take intentional baby steps throughout the year. It’s a mindset shift that improves daily life, refreshes the home into a nourishing sanctuary, supports health and well-being, and helps you savor deeper moments and connections.
By the end of your Year of Dwelling Well, you’ll be able to look back with pride at the personal growth you achieved and the improvements you’ve made in your life and home.

Last year I published a book called Dwelling: Simple Ways to Nourish Your Home, Body & Soul. Hearing from readers who have used it to transform their homes and habits has been incredibly rewarding. Sharing our journeys encourages others and reminds us we don’t have to do this alone.
Following the release of Dwelling, I created a companion: Dwelling Well, a monthly journal and wellness planner designed to be flexible, customizable, and personal. It’s meant to help you stay centered, organized, and intentional throughout the year.

The guided pages are simple to use—even if journaling is not your usual practice. The journal supports realistic action steps to create a balanced, meaningful, and healthy home life while keeping intentions clear month by month.
For short videos showing how to use the Dwelling Well journal, check the “Journal” highlight in my Instagram stories.

Dwelling Well releases on January 7th. I’ll be using the journal throughout the year to organize, reflect, and set monthly goals and action steps.
You don’t need the journal or book to participate in the series, but if you’re serious about tracking positive change this year, using the book and journal can make your intentions easier to follow and measure.

Order Dwelling Well: A Monthly Journal to Nourish Your Home, Body, and Soul to use alongside the series and your personal Year of Dwelling Well.
I’m looking forward to a meaningful new year here on The Inspired Room and hope you’ll join me in making the upcoming year one of thoughtful, steady growth and a more nourishing home life.
