How to Catch Up After Falling Behind: A Practical Guide

The London Plane - Seattle

Hey friends!

How was your weekend? I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day. I enjoyed an extended Mother’s Week, taking a short working vacation to spend time with family in Seattle. I managed to mix work with downtime and captured a few moments from the trip to share here.

Although I had plenty of work to do, I balanced it by enjoying simple pleasures: gardening when I could, sipping lattes in cozy cafes, trying out a string of restaurants, and taking walks along the waterfront. I also spent some time driving through Seattle neighborhoods, admiring the architecture and imagining life in those houses. Expect a little Seattle drive-by tour here tomorrow.

I’m not home yet. For the next two days my daughters and I will be at Harvest House Publishers in Eugene, Oregon, working on the design layout for our upcoming book. We paused briefly in Portland to visit Powell’s and enjoyed ice cream before heading south.

We are thrilled to be directly involved in the design process of our own coffee table book, which will be released in October. Over the last several months we’ve written the text, photographed more than twelve hundred images of our home, and spent many hours selecting the strongest photos to send to the design team. It’s been an intense but rewarding effort, and it’s wonderful to see the project coming together.

We’ll see you here tomorrow for a drive-by of some beautiful Seattle houses!
