Piano-Inspired Home Decor Ideas for Stylish Interiors

In our previous home we owned two baby grand pianos—one graced the living room and the other the dining room. One was a player piano, so even when no one was available to play, we could press a button and the house would fill with live music. Although we no longer have a piano, music still flows through our home regularly, whether from guitars or from a playlist on our favorite online station.

Music is a big part of our family life. My husband is a musician and our daughter sings, so we often hear rehearsals, impromptu performances, or background tunes while we go about our day. Of course, we don’t always agree on the type of music to play. For example, as I write this, my husband is practicing some very loud, intense pieces downstairs while I’d prefer something folkier like Mumford and Sons—but those differences are part of everyday life in a musical household.

We miss having a piano in the house. Beyond the sound, pianos contribute a lot to a home’s atmosphere: they become a focal point, inspire creativity, and suggest a warm, lived-in space. Whether an elegant wood finish, a painted statement piece, or a classic black instrument, a piano can elevate a room’s style while inviting family and guests to gather and play.
