Botanical Art / Runner / Lights / Door: Ozark Shadows BM / Walls: Swan White Glidden
Hope you had a good “spring forward” weekend! I’ve had one of those busy stretches where deadlines and projects all collided. It was a lot to juggle, but that’s part of running a business—work follows you, even when you step away. I’ll push through this busy season and then I’ll fall in love with my job all over again. Honestly, I love what I do, even when it’s hectic.
Do any of you run your own businesses or blog? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
After receiving positive feedback on a recent Instagram roundup, I’m planning to make these semi-regular. I won’t promise a strict schedule—after ten years of blogging I’ve learned I’m better at being flexible—but on many Sundays I’ll share snapshots from our Instagram accounts along with informal home and family updates you might not see anywhere else.
I prefer posting here because it feels a bit more personal than social media. You readers are my favorite, and I want to keep you in the loop without getting overwhelmed by social expectations.
I ordered new framed botanical art for our entry hall and I love how it adds just the right touch of green to make the space feel finished. You can see it in the top photo; I’ll share more soon.
Mug Rack / Kitchen Details
Jack is all smiles about the new kitchen. He seemed a bit left out while contractors were here, so now he’s thrilled to be back in his favorite spot. If you want to follow his antics, he has a Facebook page full of adventures.
Curtains / Quilt Lamp & Mirror: Ashley Home Store / Striped Pillows / Polka Dot Pom Pillow / Basket
My girls and I worked on a fun project this weekend to celebrate the launch of my new book, Simple Decorating. Amazon has already made the book available, and we’ll have an official launch celebration closer to April 1st.

On Friday both of my daughters came over to work and all four doodles were here. They had a blast running around the yard—complete doodle mayhem. Because the weather has been wet, they all needed a foot bath before coming inside.
Rattan Daybed / “It Is Well” Sign / Cable Knit Rug / Leather Couch
Our house was lively, and the dogs clearly love playing together!
Wall sconce
I shared a short video on Instagram of my wood-and-glass diffuser that plays music. It’s one of my favorite little luxuries—it makes the house feel like a spa. If you’re curious about the diffuser and the products I recommend, I’ll include more details in a separate post.
Rattan Daybed / Velvet Charcoal Pillows / Other pillows from HomeGoods & Target
This seat is Lily’s favorite spot every day. I can’t blame her—a sunny, comfy nook is hard to resist.

We found the cutest measuring cup at Anthropologie downtown last week and each of my girls picked one up. It’s now on my wish list. Also worth noting: Anthropologie is carrying Rifle Paper Company oven mitts and aprons this season—such a great find!

The skies and landscapes outside our windows seem to change every day. Those moments of color and light are a good reminder to pause and appreciate the beauty right outside our door.

We’re preparing a peek at our side patio by the kitchen Dutch door. It’s not finished yet, but I’ll share a post on Friday showing the Dutch door and white brick from the outside. It’s looking cute so far, even if it’s not complete.
Once the weather settles I can’t wait to sip coffee outside and plant pots every morning. Has spring arrived where you are?

Leo, Kylee’s pup and Bella’s brother, is getting bigger and fluffier—he hasn’t had his first puppy haircut yet. He’s adorable and still very much a sweetheart.
Striped Bench
Jack has already made our new dining bench his own. He seems to find a comfy spot everywhere in the house and settles in as if he’s always lived here.
My goal this week is to share more details about the kitchen. You had great questions and I’ll try to answer them soon. Talk to you again shortly!
