Autumn Coffee Recipes to Warm Your Kitchen

Fall coffee in my kitchen!

Welcome — would you like some coffee? Lately I’ve been enjoying freshly ground beans with a splash of pumpkin spice added to oat milk and a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Most mornings I keep it simple, but every so often I like to add a little seasonal flair.

I don’t buy pre-made creamers, though sometimes I make my own. Another favorite addition is a vanilla bourbon latte I shared last year — a warm, cozy twist that’s perfect for cooler mornings.

I still make my coffee with a stovetop espresso maker — it’s simple and reliable, and Beatrix (the name I gave my new stove) helps make mornings easier. I’ll share more about her and our experience in an upcoming post, but so far I’m really enjoying having her in the kitchen.

I treated myself to a set of new mugs recently and I love them. They come in a set of four with pretty designs and colors. They’re large and comforting to hold — perfect for wrapping your hands around on a chilly fall morning.

People keep asking if they missed the kitchen before-and-after photos. No — you didn’t miss them. Believe it or not, our renovation still isn’t fully finished. So close, but there’s still a bit to do.

I hope to post a more official reveal in the next couple of weeks, including the before-and-after photos so we can remember where we started and how far we’ve come.

Someone recently mentioned that the last 10% of a remodel always takes the longest, and that has certainly been true for us. The remaining punch list items are small, but they drag on. I had hoped we’d be finished in June — alas, not quite yet.

If you’d like, I can share some of the delays and hold-ups we encountered during this project. It might be helpful for anyone planning a renovation to know what to expect, why delays happen, and when it’s worth speaking up. A little preparation can save a lot of frustration.

Despite the unfinished details, we’ve been able to cook and make coffee here for the past few months, and that has made being in the kitchen enjoyable. I love spending slow mornings here and look forward to sharing more coffee moments with you.

Thanks for stopping by, friend!
