IIf you’re a long-time follower of TIR, you’ve likely heard me describe Fall Nesting as a mindset.
It’s an invitation to adapt our homes and daily rituals in ways that feel meaningful and manageable.
Fall Nesting encourages a pace that is both comforting and inspiring. We don’t rush through it or worry about the next season; instead, we focus on being present so we can enjoy the season we’re in.
Fall Nesting is about paying attention to how our home feels day to day, not how quickly or perfectly we can decorate it.
It’s also about resisting pressure and comparison. There’s no need to feel rushed or inadequate—this is a personal process, not a competition.
Just as the seasons change gradually outside, the seasonal changes within our home should unfold naturally.
Even if you don’t experience a traditional autumn where you live, or if it’s still very warm, you can use your imagination to invite the mood of fall into your space.
Picture a crisp breeze at the window, cool evenings, and the gentle sound of leaves underfoot as they fall.
Imagine the soft shift in light and color that autumn brings and how those small changes influence the way your home feels.

Fall Nesting isn’t dictated by what you see outside—it’s about what you want to feel within your home.
Take a deep breath. We have time.
With Fall Nesting, we slow down and leave the frantic pace and external expectations outside our door.
When we cross the threshold, what matters is what comforts and inspires us and our families.
Fall Nesting is about savoring the season and gradually falling more in love with your home each day.
