I know—it’s still summer, and if you’re enjoying warm weather, I don’t want to rush it away. We’ve had an amazing summer here and I’m not ready for it to end. School doesn’t start until September, so there’s still plenty of summer left to savor.

That said, I love fall and usually begin talking about it in September. I’ve hosted a Fall Nesting series and party every year since 2008, so it’s a familiar tradition for me and for many of you. Some readers have already asked whether I’ll be hosting Fall Nesting again this year—yes, I absolutely will.

This Fall Nesting Series & Party has been a tradition since 2008. That’s a long-running tradition, and it means I really love this season. If my math is right, this October marks a milestone for the series.

MY FIFTH ANNUAL

FALLNESTINGSERIESANDPARTYYYYYYYYY!

I can hardly believe it’s been five years. You might think I’d be tired of talking about fall by now, but every autumn in my home is different. Some things remain constant—the cozy feeling, the colors, the rituals—but each fall brings new inspiration. Fall never gets old.

If you want a refresher on why I love this season, read the Autumn Manifesto from last year for a little inspiration. Even if you don’t experience a traditional fall where you live, you’ll see that fall can be a mindset as much as a season.

Consider this your personal pre-invitation to join me in October for my Fifth Annual Fall Nesting Party.

Why invite you in mid-August? Because I want you to have time to plan how you’ll participate. You can link up your own posts about fall nesting, just like we have since 2008. This community is full of fall lovers, and our Fall Nesting parties cover everything from seasonal organizing and decor to holiday preparations.

In September I’ll focus on getting organized and ready for the season so that by October we’ll be fully immersed in Fall Nesting with plenty of inspiring posts and link-ups. You can join whenever you’d like.

This year there will be a new linky party every single week of October. You can join one week, join them all, or drop in occasionally to enjoy the ideas shared. Some readers have even run their own Fall Nesting series and linked up; feel free to participate in whatever way suits you.

I’ll be writing about Fall Nesting throughout October—perhaps not every single day, but frequently—and each week I’ll open a linky party where you can share posts that fit the week’s theme. Here are the tentative weekly themes (subject to slight changes) to help you plan:

Fall Nesting Parties @ The Inspired Room (every Tuesday in October)

Week One:
Get Your Fall Nesting On — Share 20 little things you love about fall or other favorite-fall-things lists.

Week Two:
Fall around the House — Show how you’re nesting at home for fall: simple touches, rooms refreshed, cozy corners.

Week Three:
Decorating Fall Mantels & Porches — Share mantel displays, porch decor, and autumn entrances.

Week Four:
Inspired Holiday Nesting — Ideas for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or early holiday decorating and entertaining.

Week Five:
Fall Project Round Up — Highlight your favorite project from October and link it up for others to enjoy.

In short: we’ll celebrate fall—autumn—throughout the month in many ways. Cozy decor, simple projects, seasonal routines, and holiday ideas are all welcome.

I’ll remind you of themes and dates as October approaches. Meanwhile, save the button and let others know you plan to participate in this month of Fall Nesting.

I’m also planning a few fall-themed surprises for October, so it promises to be one of our best Fall Nesting Parties yet.

Will you join me for the 5th Annual Fall Nesting Series & Party? It’s become a lovely tradition here.
