HHello, friends! We may not be at Clark Griswold levels of holiday excess, but this is our first Christmas in the new house and it already feels special. It’s simple, cozy, and a little magical — a perfect beginning.
We still have many projects ahead as we settle into this home, inside and out, but we weren’t going to skip decorating. Adding twinkling lights and hanging stars made the house feel festive right away, and I’m secretly hoping for snow later to complete the picture.
One of our favorite features is the covered front porch with an upper deck above. Both offer lovely views of the neighborhood, sea and sky, and having a covered porch is a real gift living in the Pacific Northwest. The double doors connect the porch to the living space, which is especially useful in a smaller home.
Porches are wonderful because you can dress them for every season, and Christmas is no exception.
We have many plans for this house in the months and years ahead and can’t wait to share updates on interior and exterior projects. For now we’re enjoying every blessing of this season and savoring the present moments.
Enjoy a peek at our festive porches…and the pups, too.
