It’s better to give than to receive, right?
Yes. Yes it is.
I set out this week determined to Christmas shop for other people. I really did. But then… those irresistible finds happened. I couldn’t help myself—some things just called to me.
Note: This post was created in partnership with a retailer, and I hand-selected each of these items because I genuinely liked them.
I love having a nearby store I can browse for gifts, furniture and rugs year-round. On this trip I found so many lovely things that would make great presents—or wonderful treats for yourself.
This week I found the perfect gifts for …
1. Cuddling.
Honestly—could these plush animals be any cuter? If something is furry and adorable, it usually ends up in my hands. I first saw the plush owl months ago and carried it through the store. I left it behind once, but as soon as I reached the car I had to go back. I’m not proud of it, but its little feet were impossible to resist. These soft friends are perfect for snuggling and make delightful gifts for kids or anyone who enjoys a cozy accent. Fair warning: once you pick one up, you won’t want to put it down.
*Gift Ideas: Plush owl, plush fox
2. Entertaining.
Pretty dishes and serving pieces are always welcome gifts. We found several beautiful items that would be perfect for a hostess or friend—or to keep at home for special occasions. I admit I already washed a set of festive plates, slipped elegant napkin rings into my drawer and placed delicate wine glasses in my cabinet. Give them as a thoughtful present, or keep them to elevate your own table.
*Gift Ideas: Hand-blown wine glasses, appetizer plates, hammered gold and silver napkin rings
3. The kitchen.
I have a soft spot for measuring cups and spoons. I love opening my baking drawer and seeing cheerful, useful tools ready to go. Some of my current measuring cups were showing wear from regular use, so new sets were a welcome find. These make practical, pretty gifts for anyone who bakes or cooks frequently—though I confess I already tucked several into my own drawer.
*Gift Ideas: Floral measuring cups, owl measuring spoons, zinnia measuring spoons
4. The home.
When my husband and I married, we decided to give each other home-related gifts for holidays and birthdays—coasters, serving bowls, candles, cozy throws—so our house could grow into a home we loved. Years and multiple homes later, I still enjoy giving and receiving items that make our space feel warm and personal. On this trip I picked up stylish coasters, a decorative leaf bowl and a fuzzy throw I’ve already been cuddling under. I did manage to give a candle away before I could burn it, so there’s that.
*Gift Ideas: Embossed coaster set, leaf serving bowl, fuzzy throw, sugared cinnamon candle
In short, I found gifts I truly liked.
A lot.
I hope this list of favorite gift ideas helps simplify your shopping or inspires small updates that make your home feel more festive this season. Happy gift hunting—and don’t be surprised if you keep a few things for yourself.
