Jen from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam waited 17 years for her front porch — and it was worth it. Even though she says many rooms are still a work in progress, her home’s exterior is already beautiful. Her story is a lovely reminder that patience can pay off; see her porch and the transformation for yourself.
Domestic Fashionista
Ashley of Domestic Fashionista recently swapped her dining room and living room to better fit how her family lives. The rearrangement creates more functional, comfortable spaces — a great example of letting daily life guide design decisions. Check out her evolving rooms and the reasoning behind the layout changes.
Sweet & Simple Home
Rachel from Sweet & Simple Home has a warm YouTube channel that invites viewers into her family life. I discovered her through the 31 Day Love Your Home Challenge she created, inspired by my earlier book. She now shares a video tour of her cozy living room and dining area — a lovely space where her young family homeschools and spends time together. She’ll be hosting a series based on The Inspired Room book, and I’m looking forward to it.
Happy Happy Nester
I enjoyed Janine’s kitchen post on Happy Happy Nester. The little bench and cheerful yellow pillow are adorable, and the changes they made to open up the kitchen have created a space that works well for their family. It’s a great example of practical, joyful design.
Honey We’re Home
Megan from Honey We’re Home shared a master bedroom that evolved over five years into a space she truly loves — anchored by a stunning mirror. Her story is a reminder that many rooms come together gradually, and the end result is worth the steady work.
In My Own Style
Diane from In My Own Style completed nine paint projects to transform her dining area into a room she adores. The painted white hutch and the fireplace mantel are standout features. Her project highlights how powerful paint can be in updating and unifying a space.
The Chronicles of Home
Jen from The Chronicles of Home has a lovely screened-in porch complete with an electric fireplace for chillier nights. The blinds, curtains, and layout make it a comfortable, inviting spot that feels ready for relaxing and entertaining.
Cuckoo4Design
Julia of Cuckoo4Design shared how her living room has evolved as her tastes changed. Over time she shifted toward a more neutral palette, and the results are calm and cohesive — a good example of letting your style develop naturally.
