Adapting Your Home and Wardrobe as Seasons Change

Hi friends! This week our youngest, Luke, graduates from high school. I’m excited for summer to begin, but I’m also reluctant to rush into the next season. Graduation brings a mix of celebration and the bittersweet feeling of change.

I’m trying to savor these last days of Luke being at home, knowing our family life will shift as he prepares for college this fall. It’s a unique season for a mom—full of reflection and anticipation.

Having daughters who stayed close after their high school and college graduations has helped me prepare for this transition. While this chapter with a child at home is ending, I believe there’s a beautiful new season ahead for our family. Change is natural, and although it can be emotional, it also brings growth and new memories.

I expect many emotions and special moments to surface during graduation week—especially since Luke is our baby. Over the coming days and months I’ll reflect more on parenting through seasons of life and share what this transition feels like for our family.

Some readers resonated with a post I shared a few months ago about this season. If you missed it, you might find it meaningful to read “Dwelling: The Heart of the Home Maker.”
