RRemember a couple of years ago when I entered the Annie Selke Dash & Albert rug design competition? It feels like ages ago, but the memory is still special to me.
In that contest two of my designs were chosen for production after readers voted for their favorites. Thank you so much for your support — it was an incredible opportunity to design for a brand I’ve admired for years. Even better than saying I designed rugs is actually seeing them in person. I previously shared mock-ups showing how they might look in real spaces, and now I get to show you the real thing.
The two winning rugs I designed (and tested out with my girls) are now in my home. I couldn’t wait to open the boxes and snap a few photos to share.
The rugs are called the Inspired Stripe and the Nova.

Nova Rug (hand-knotted wool)

Nova Rug

As you’d expect from Dash & Albert, the rugs are beautiful in person. The Nova’s hand-knotted wool feels luxurious and looks great in any room or size. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

Inspired Stripe Rug (woven cotton)

I’ll follow up with a more polished photoshoot of these rugs in my home — and of course my goldendoodle Jack will want to join in. He took rug modeling practice very seriously during the competition, so I won’t deny him the full reveal.

If you choose one of these rugs for your home, I would love to see it!
Tag me @theinspiredroom on Instagram — it would be so fun to see them in your space.
