Top Baby Shower Gifts Parents Love to Give and Receive

Favorite Baby Gifts - To Give and Receive - The Inspired Room

HHello friends! It’s Cassie here with my monthly guest post. Babies have been on my mind constantly lately—between my one-and-a-half-year-old and another due in a few months, plus several friends who are expecting, I spend a lot of time looking at, buying, and making baby things.

The world of baby gear can feel overwhelming: strollers, car seats, diapers, feeding supplies, furniture, clothing, blankets—the list goes on. There are essentials and many items that simply make life easier (or cuter). You can find dozens of registry lists online recommending brands and must-haves, but I wanted to share a personal roundup of items I truly love.

Below are baby gifts I have given, received, or purchased myself. Most are a little more unique than typical big-box store picks. I choose things that proved useful, durable, or simply adorable. This is not a formal registry list, though many would make lovely registry additions. When I shop for others I try to include a registry “need” and a surprise “want,” like one of these favorites.

Favorite Baby Gifts to Give and Receive - The Inspired Room blog

1. Baby’s First Year memory book by Lucy Darling. I discovered this recently and love it. It comes in an animal design and a floral artist version. The layout is simple, beautifully designed, and records just the right amount of details without being overwhelming.

2. Bandana bibs. Bibs have evolved—bandana styles look nicer than traditional bibs while offering the same protection. Reversible options are especially handy for variety and convenience.

3. Puj Flyte baby tub. This compact, foldable tub was perfect for my small newborn and is great for travel. It fits most sinks, including many bathroom sinks, and stores easily when not in use.

Beatrix Potter Classics

4. Beatrix Potter classics. I was thrilled to find a vintage boxed set of these at a rummage sale. The classic Peter Rabbit stories are timeless and make beautiful, personal gifts—individual books boxed together feel special and collectible.

5. Noodle & Boo baby lotion. Newborns have a distinctive, comforting scent—this lotion comes close and leaves babies smelling fresh and soft.

6. WubbaNub pacifier. A pacifier attached to a small stuffed animal may seem simple, but babies often cling to them. They’re harder to lose, provide something for little hands to hold, and can soothe teething infants.

Boppy Cover

7. A cute Boppy cover. Boppy nursing pillows are a favorite for many parents, and custom covers from small makers add personality. Having two covers is practical so one can be in use while the other is in the wash.

8. Skip Hop diaper changing station. This compact changing kit is useful at home or on the go. It includes a wrist strap, pockets for diapers and wipes, and a roomy changing surface.

9. Solly Baby wrap. Babywearing is wonderful for bonding and hands-free convenience. While I used an Ergo carrier with my first, I plan to use a Solly wrap with my second. Many parents praise its comfort and ease once you learn to tie it.

Freshly Picked Moccasins

10. Freshly Picked moccasins. These soft-soled shoes are well-made and stay on better than many other baby shoes. They’re ideal for infants learning to stand and walk, offering flexibility and protection without a rigid sole.

11. Stroller blankets. Blankets are a common gift, but a high-quality stroller blanket is especially useful for outings. A good-weight, durable blanket is something many parents appreciate receiving.

12. Boon Pulp feeder. This silicone feeder is great for introducing solids and soothing teething sore gums. It’s easy to clean compared with mesh-style feeders.

Swaddle Blankets - Aden and Anais

13. Aden + Anais swaddle blankets. These muslin swaddles are versatile—perfect for swaddling, nursing covers, car seat shades, changing area layers, and more. They come in different weights and fabric blends (including bamboo and organic) and are available in many prints and collaborations for more unique patterns.

I hope this list helps you find thoughtful gifts for babies and parents in your life. In my next post I’ll share a tutorial for a favorite baby item you can make yourself—can’t wait to show you!
