I am naturally drawn to galvanized and zinc pieces year-round, but they feel especially at home at Christmas. There’s something honest and unpretentious about a simple metal bucket that I find appealing. Using galvanized or zinc accents brings a farmhouse-industrial warmth to traditional shiny ornaments and fresh greenery, creating a cozy, lived-in holiday look.
In our home, a few metal buckets hold small Christmas trees and firewood, while a galvanized trough and a shallow tray are perfect for arranging seasonal ornaments or winter plants. I also love a string of galvanized stars—easy to drape across a mantel or a wall for both Christmas and summer celebrations like the Fourth of July.
