I’ve been doing a little fall nesting around the house this week. I absolutely love this time of year.
Yesterday was a crisp, sunny fall day. I spent some time tidying and, although I didn’t complete all my chores, I did put away more of the summer items and brought out autumn decor. The house already feels cozier.
I’m craving warmer, softer textures—and so is Jack. He loves curling up on plush blankets and sofas. Watching him nap is amusing: his legs and ears flop in every direction. Just the other day his feet were propped against the wall before I snapped the photo. In case you were wondering, he’s almost 30 pounds now at four months old.
Where was I? Right—goodbye, summer. I’m ready for cool air, changing leaves and bright fall sunshine. All I want is cozy layers, soft fabrics and maybe a velvet sofa by the fireplace. That, to me, is fall perfection.
We’re only a few days away from 31 Days: Inspired for the Holidays. I’m really excited about this series and already have ideas and inspiration planned for the entire month.
Hint: this weekend I’ll be giving away some adorable plush pumpkins—perfect for cozy fall decor. You know you want to squish one.
It’s shaping up to be a lovely month.
Do you ever dream about velvet couches this time of year? For me, late September triggers a craving for rich, velvety upholstery. My white slipcovers suddenly don’t feel as appealing in the cooler months.
Now I’m picturing a rusty, cinnamon-colored velvet sofa.
That would be deliciously cozy.
