I’ll admit it: our Snug has long been a catchall room. This week I finally took the time to pull it together. I decluttered, rearranged pieces we already had, and added a few functional, stylish finds from Wayfair to make the room feel finished.
There’s more I want to do over time, but for now we’re embracing baby steps.
Let me show you around.

This room is long and narrow and has to serve several purposes, which made arranging it a challenge. After moving furniture and editing clutter, I finally landed on a layout that works. I also identified a few missing pieces that would make the space feel cozier and less like an afterthought.
Here’s what I found at Wayfair:
Checkered lampshade and desk lamp; Chinoiserie lamp; botanical art (set); storage end table with built-in outlets and USB sockets; two textured throw pillows; a jute rug; and a metal task floor lamp.
Wayfair often has cottage-style pieces that complement my home. With Black Friday approaching, it’s a great time to shop for deals and seasonal updates.
I hope you enjoy the photos and this little update on the Snug.

I like to reuse items we already have. The books on the bookcase are the ones I wrote, so it’s fun to decorate with them since this room doubles as my office.

We didn’t have an end table for this side of the couch, so I was pleased to find a navy storage end table. It offers surface space, interior storage, and built-in plugs and USB sockets—very handy for phones and lamps.

This week I’ll decide what to display inside the cabinet. The movable shelf makes it adaptable for many options.

A jute rug helps tie together the furniture we already had. I fell in love with a set of botanical prints to create a focal point on the couch wall; the set includes six pieces and we used five to form a balanced gallery.

The botanical set has a vintage feel I love—the fabric mats and beaded brass frames are elegant, and the pieces come ready to hang, which makes installation easy.

Adding lamps brought personality and the extra light we need as evenings get darker. I especially like the checkered desk lamp for the office corner.

Another lamp I added features blue-and-white Chinoiserie detailing with bird motifs—classic and pretty on the side table.

For reading, I prefer pharmacy-style floor lamps. The adjustable task lamp can raise and lower for different lighting needs. The two new pillows on the couch add neutral blues and greens and deliver a lot of texture.

Finnegan, of course, contributes to the room’s cozy vibe.

Turning on the lamps each evening has become a comforting ritual before dinner.
