Connecting with so many of you this week around Simple Gatherings has been a highlight. The book’s core message is about gathering friends and creating authentic, meaningful connections—and seeing that play out here has been very meaningful to me.
Even if we can’t all gather in person, I’m grateful we can meet here through our shared interest in home and hospitality. Ten years after starting this blog, it still amazes me that this community exists and continues to grow.

Sandy and I became close friends through blogging. We both live in the Northwest, text often, and meet up when we can. The photo above shows a gathering in her beautiful backyard at her former house; her new home is just as lovely. Sandy is the epitome of a gracious hostess and a loyal friend, and I’m so grateful for her friendship.

Bre brings warmth and welcome to the online world. She’s kind, supportive, and always goes above and beyond. Her home and heart are inspiring, and she and her husband recently welcomed an adorable puppy—so sweet.
Meet Jen – Balancing Beauty and Bedlam – Front Porch
Jen and I have been fellow writers and friends for a long time. Though we live across the country from each other, we stay in touch and always enjoy our time together. Her porch is amazing and her porch story was featured in my first book, Love The Home You Have. I’m thankful for her friendship and encouragement.
It may sound surprising that I met these friends online, but I’m so glad our blogging connections turned into genuine friendships. I’ve gathered some truly wonderful people along this journey.
