Happy First Weekend of Fall!
We put together a curated design board and shop selection to inspire a fall look that feels fresh, warm, gathered, and textured. These ideas are meant to spark your imagination and help you shape a cozy seasonal style that reflects your own taste.
I love design and enjoy emphasizing the mood of a season in a way that’s distinctly personal. Experimenting with new combinations of colors, fabrics, and accessories is a simple and fun way to update your space for autumn.
To create your own signature fall room, start by choosing a few descriptive words that capture the atmosphere you want—words like warm, layered, rustic, or refined. Those words will guide your choices and help you keep a cohesive vision.
Try this method to design virtual or real spaces:
Make a short list of descriptive words that express the desired mood for the room.
Collect a mix of elements—fabrics, textures, furniture, lighting, and decorative accents—that bring that vision to life.
We assemble our design boards in Photoshop, but you don’t need that tool to create one. A Pinterest board, a digital collage tool, or even a physical bulletin board will work well. Gather images of furniture, textiles, and accessories that fit your chosen mood and arrange them until the composition feels right.
What would your ideal fall space look and feel like?
Consider these prompts as you plan: Which textures will you layer? Will you introduce warm metals, woven baskets, or soft knits? What color palette will ground the room—muted neutrals, deep jewel tones, or sun-washed ambers? Imagining small vignettes, like a reading corner or a gathered dining table, can help translate the overall mood into real decorating decisions.
