Remember that excited feeling when you move into a new home and can’t wait to make it your own? Even though I haven’t moved recently, I still love the process of making this house feel like home after six years here. Decorating with things you love layers personality into a space and makes it inviting, and I enjoy taking the time to do just that.

While major remodels are rewarding, I often prefer small, thoughtful updates: styling a shelf, changing a vignette, hanging a piece on the wall, or arranging cherished items. I enjoy experimenting with placement, refreshing mantel displays, and slowly building collections of classic pieces like original art, pottery, and timeless accessories. Collecting over time is a hobby I find both relaxing and satisfying.
One of my newest additions is Polish pottery. A few months ago I found three pie plates and a mug at TJ Maxx and was immediately drawn to the vibrant colors and patterns. Collecting items won’t guarantee happiness, but choosing things that have meaning or brighten a corner of your home can add a little daily joy.
Polish pottery isn’t always easy to find locally, so I’ve gathered a few online sources to help if you’re considering starting your own collection.
