Cozy Under-Eaves Bed Nook Ideas for Small Snug Rooms

Cozy Bed Nook

This post was created in partnership with Leesa

We have two guest beds in our home: one in its own small bedroom and the other tucked into the Snug. I realized I hadn’t shared an update on this cozy bed nook under the eaves since we moved the bed here, so today I’m sharing fresh photos and thoughts about the space.

We recently added a Leesa mattress to the nook and everyone who visits loves it. It’s become a favorite spot for naps, snuggling with a baby, and overnight guests.

Creating a safe, comfortable home is important to me, and having quality mattresses for guests and family makes a big difference. For the Snug we chose the Leesa Legend Hybrid mattress — it gives a luxurious feel at a reasonable price and is GreenGuard Gold certified, which mattered to us with little ones often in the space.

When we first walked through this house, I imagined this room as the perfect spot for a bed nook. The angled ceilings make the space feel intentionally tucked-in and cozy, and the new mattress just amplifies that snug feeling.

Last year we removed the carpet and installed hardwood floors during a downstairs renovation. The new flooring brightened the nook and made it easier to keep clean, especially with our pups around.

Completing the floors during the renovation was a relief — the messiest work is behind us, so now we can focus on finishing touches and smaller updates in the Snug.

I’d love to paint the walls here one day, or maybe add wallpaper. I’ve been collecting inspiration images of cottage-style attic rooms and can’t wait to settle on a direction.

Angled walls feel familiar — my childhood bedroom had them, and so did our first house. That sense of familiarity is part of why this room feels like home to me.

I also daydream about built-in bunks in the future. For now we’re happy using the furniture we already have, but it’s fun to imagine ways to make the Snug even cozier.

One simple improvement I’ve been considering is installing wall sconces above the bed since there isn’t room for bedside tables and lamps. For now, a clip-on reading light does the job for guests and works perfectly well.

We’re enjoying making this our forever home, one corner at a time — and this cozy bed nook is one of the spots we love most.

If you’re shopping for a mattress, Leesa often runs promotions and offers that make their mattresses more affordable. Using a trusted code or sale can help you get more value when buying a new mattress.

You can find many of the items I recommend through my LTK page, which makes it easy to shop the pieces I’ve used in our home.
