disclaimer: the women in this photo were the ones in the hall at Blissdom when the picture was taken. There are many other talented home bloggers and decorators!

As I mingled with the lovely and inspiring home bloggers at Blissdom, I was struck by how similar we can be in our love for home while still remaining entirely unique. Each of us approaches life and the search for everyday beauty in our own way.

I find inspiration in each of these women and in their blogs. It isn’t always because I agree with every idea they share—although I usually enjoy what they do—but because I admire their creativity, point of view, and the personality they bring to their work. I visit their blogs to borrow a little of that creativity and energy to brighten my day.

These women encourage me to be a better version of myself simply by being who they are. I don’t need to be like them or as popular as they are; I can be inspired by them. They give generously from the heart, whether that means a fresh idea, a new way to look at an old concept, or a small spark of motivation. Their work nudges me out of my comfort zone, invites me to try new things, and reminds me to be confident enough in my own voice so I can share with others.

Because of that, I feel nothing but support for these online creators, both those pictured and those not. While blogging can be competitive and some worry about supporting the “competition,” I usually see it differently. I’m excited to cheer on women who share their talents and lives. Putting yourself out there takes courage, and these women do it with grace and creativity. That is truly inspiring.

If you’re hesitating to start a blog because it feels like there are already too many, know this: there is room for everyone. Blogging isn’t a contest to get the most traffic or the most polished design. It’s about being yourself, telling your story, and finding your people. Whether you’re a reader or a writer, you can find a community that supports and encourages you.

Each of you has something valuable to offer. You bring experiences and passions that others can learn from.

Whether you share through a blog, at church, at work, at your PTA, or wherever you connect with other women, you can make a difference simply by opening your heart and sharing your stories.

As a blog reader, you play an important role in this community. Your comments and quiet support encourage writers and help sustain the conversation. Thank you for that.

I’m grateful you’re part of blogland, whether you read, share, or do both. I hope you find as much inspiration in these talented women as I do.
