Repeat After Me: Improve Memory with Simple Verbal Practice

We’ve done our best to bring the beauty and wonder of the season into our home.

Now it’s time to slow down and savor what truly matters.

I know that’s easy to say and not always easy to do.

Maybe this week you scrolled through picture-perfect holiday homes on Instagram and Pinterest and felt a bit behind. Or perhaps you looked around your own space and felt overwhelmed by how much more there is to do.

Even if your lists are checked twice and you’ve decked the halls, there’s always something else you could add or change.

So much more we might still wish we could do.

Maybe there are things we wish we had already finished.

Sigh. If only the laundry and dishes would magically disappear after the tree is up—wouldn’t everything feel more magical?

Take a deep breath. Everything is okay. You are not alone.

Here’s a small secret: wanting to create a meaningful, welcoming home for our family is a beautiful thing.

Your heart is in the right place. Let’s adjust any unrealistic expectations and choose to find joy in what we already have.

Repeat after me:

What we have is enough. It is a gift.
What I can give my family and others this season is enough.
Important things will get done; what didn’t get done doesn’t define this season.
My home doesn’t need to be perfect to be a sanctuary for my family.

Soon the flurry of expectations and activities will pass.

With only a few sleeps left before the holiday, let’s remind ourselves to embrace what the season truly means and focus on what matters while we can.

And then give ourselves grace for everything else.

You’ve got this.

If you’d like continued support in the new year, I’ll be hosting A Year of Sanctuary inside HomeBody Gathering Place starting January 5th. We’ll begin with a fresh focus and simple intentions for our homes.

You’ll get a clear plan to make meaningful, manageable progress on your home goals.

Step by step, season by season, we’ll shape our homes into the sanctuaries we want them to be.

I guide and encourage members each week in the HomeBody Gathering Place so we can learn and grow together.

Reserve your spot now to relax and enjoy the rest of this season with more ease.
