Style At Home

II thought you might like to start the week with some inspiring summer rooms. It’s been uncomfortably hot here, so I’ve been searching for cool, airy interiors to distract myself — yes, I’ve been browsing Pinterest for ideas and inspiration.
If you’re used to triple-digit heat you may think I’m soft, but a stretch of 90-degree days feels like being baked in an oven to me. I don’t usually sweat much where I live unless I’m exercising, and even then I prefer not to. I’ll be traveling next week to the Southeast for a design conference and a few visits, and I’m bracing for more heat — hopefully with a few air-conditioned respites to rescue me. Bring on crisp autumn weather!
What I love about these rooms
They feel simple yet visually engaging.
Minimalism can be powerful, but it only works when the chosen pieces create interest and balance. A room with fewer elements can still feel lively and layered if those elements are thoughtfully selected and placed. No one wants to live in a boring space — I prefer rooms that reward the eye.
Color and accessories are useful tools for telling a room’s story, but you don’t need many of them to achieve a fresh, inviting look. Prioritize items that please you and compose the space so it feels polished and welcoming. A restrained palette, natural textures, and a few well-chosen accents can make a room feel light and effortless while still expressing personality.
Happy Monday, friends! (PS. will anyone be attending the Haven conference?)
