If I lived here…I would invite you all over for a girls’ weekend lake house party! Girls only.
I’d leave laptops and cell phones on the far side of the lake so we could enjoy an unplugged weekend. The idea is simple: no pings, no emails, just calm and conversation.
All the kids would be cared for at home by family, and we would relax without the usual interruptions.
The first night we’d sit in those porch chairs in our pajamas, talking and laughing long into the evening, swapping stories and ideas like old friends do.
The next morning we’d sleep in, then make coffee and warm scones. Later we’d glide out on the water in rowboats—gentle, unhurried, and pleasantly cool so no one gets sweaty.
At lunchtime we’d visit a charming lakeside bistro, then spend the afternoon wandering a quaint street of boutiques and little shops, browsing for small treasures and enjoying the stroll.
At some point we’d realize we miss sharing the fun online—since it’s an unplugged weekend—so we’d ask a passerby to snap a photo and text it to us later. Problem solved, and we stay present without losing the memory.
At dusk we’d return to the house, mix fruity drinks, and take a relaxing swim in the indoor pool—because surely a house like this would have one.
Evenings would be for cozy comfort: soft yoga pants, simple snacks, and a lineup of feel-good movies. We’d laugh, cry, and become closer by the hour.
By the end of the weekend we’d leave as best friends, carrying the warmth of that time back into our everyday lives. Whenever we visited each other’s online profiles afterward, we’d smile and remember the lake house retreat.
This small, luxurious escape is a daydream I love—simple, restorative, and full of good company.
What if YOU lived here?
{Remember: this is just for fun—no need to burst the bubble.}
