Atlanta Homes
I’ve been feeling inspired to refresh our living and dining rooms lately. It helps that it’s officially the first day of fall — a perfect reason to make a few changes and welcome a cozier season.
Seasonal shifts often spark ideas for small, impactful updates. You don’t need a major renovation to change the mood of a room. Simple touches like cutting colorful branches for a vase, swapping out textiles, or rearranging accessories can make the space feel new. If you’re aiming for something more dramatic, consider new furniture, a bold wallpaper, or minor architectural details like trim or moulding to add character.
I’ll share more specifics about my plans soon, but for now I’m enjoying collecting inspiration and imagining what could improve the rooms—whether that’s a subtle tweak or a fuller refresh.
Five ideas to inspire a fresh look for your living room:
- Cut branches with changing leaves from your yard for instant seasonal decor.
- Swap artwork and accessories for pieces in richer, deeper tones to create a warmer feel.
- Add more lamps and layered lighting to make the space feel cozier in the evenings.
- Explore secondhand shops or flea markets for a unique antique or unexpected statement piece.
- Introduce wallpaper, wainscot, or trim to add texture and architectural interest.
