Happy first weekend of fall! To celebrate the season we assembled a design board and a curated shop to inspire a warm, textured, gathered fall look that still feels fresh.

I love design and enjoy highlighting the mood of a season in a way that reflects your personal style. Fall offers a great opportunity to experiment with new combinations of color, texture and pattern to create a space that feels cozy and intentional.

Whether you plan to refresh one corner or redesign an entire room, it can be helpful to imagine a signature look for your home. Start by picking a few descriptive words that capture the mood you want — words like cozy, layered, rustic, modern, or muted. Those simple cues can guide decisions about fabrics, finishes, and accessories.

How to design a virtual or real fall space

1. Choose 3–5 descriptive words to define the mood you want.

2. Collect a mix of elements: furniture, textiles, lighting, rugs, and small decorative items that reflect those words.

We create our boards in Photoshop, but if you don’t have access to Photoshop you can use a Pinterest board to pin favorite items, try collage tools, or assemble a physical bulletin board. The goal is the same: gather inspiration, edit ruthlessly, and keep the overall mood consistent.

What would your ideal fall space look and feel like?

Answering that question helps you narrow choices and gives you a clear vision to work toward. Think about how the room should feel when you walk in — relaxed, intimate, energizing, or peaceful — and use that feeling to pick materials and finishes.
