The last week was full of lively moments and small celebrations. We marked Winston’s 17th birthday with a party hat and cupcakes. He’s an adorable fellow, though he refused to sit still for photos—this was the best capture I could get. He looks a little shocked, but I’m convinced he enjoyed the fuss and the treats.
After the celebration, my husband and I slipped away for a couple of days alone—no kids, no dogs. We shopped (yes, Anthropologie was on the list), enjoyed excellent meals, and took carefree ferry rides. I even snapped a few drive-by photos of charming houses in Port Townsend that I plan to share later this week.
We returned home to spend time with our wonderful kids, eat more great food, and tackle some painting projects around the house—starting with my office. To top off the week, we managed to get one of our decade-old cars fixed, which felt like a real victory.
One of those experiences was definitely less enjoyable than the others—see if you can guess which one!
Progress around the house is happening, albeit slowly. I’ll share an office update soon—the first coat of paint already looks fantastic, and there’s one more coat to go before the finishing touches begin.
Hope your weekend has been as enjoyable as ours—aside from the inevitable car repairs!
