Painted Front Doors
I love colorful front doors. They give a home personality and make a welcoming first impression.
Do you?
This is an older photo of my porch and front door. The décor has changed over the years, but the door itself has stayed the same. On the exterior it’s natural wood, and on the interior I painted it black.
To be honest, I’m not completely happy with the current wood tone. I want to paint the door—but I can’t decide on a color. Should I go with black, or choose a bright, cheerful hue?
I’d love to paint or stain my entire house a soft gray with white trim like this lovely home I adore.
Painting the whole house isn’t happening this year, though. That dream will have to wait.
Painting the front door and the surrounding trim, however, might be doable.

Which color should I choose?
To find inspiration, I gathered images of colorful doors. I’m drawn to greens, yellows, oranges and blues—each color gives a very different vibe.
