Happy Easter! I wanted to share some of our favorite holiday recipes and treats we often make for gatherings. We tend to eat healthily most of the time, but these special sweets have become beloved traditions. Many of the recipes can be adapted for dairy-free or gluten-free diets, and we’ve tested them with our family — they still taste great.
A few Easters ago we tried a Maple-Sweetened Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp that’s both gluten-free and vegan. We served it with vanilla non-dairy coconut milk ice cream and it was absolutely delicious — a new favorite we’ll be making again this weekend. It’s one of those desserts I’d happily eat every day.

Courtney enjoys making pretty pies for special occasions. We use a reliable pie crust that adapts well to gluten-free flour — the crust turns out flaky and delicious. For Easter last year she used a mixed berry filling instead of the typical apple, and it was wonderful. Using a good gluten-free 1:1 flour makes the difference if you need to omit gluten.

- The adorable Easter egg and bunny pie crust cutters add a festive touch and are a fun way to decorate a pie.
- A ruffled white pie dish makes a simple pie feel special — it’s one of our favorite little upgrades for holiday baking.
You can find more photos and a peek at our family’s Easter celebration in past posts, along with additional pie inspiration like a Woodland Themed Pie and a Fall Leaves Pie — they’re great examples of how to make gluten-free and vegan pies look festive and inviting.

Dutch babies are a staple brunch in our home and a reliable crowd-pleaser for holidays. We usually make them gluten-free and serve with a fresh lemon wedge and powdered sugar, though they’re also lovely with berries or baked apples and cinnamon.

We’ve perfected a gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookie that consistently delivers the best texture and flavor — honestly, they don’t taste gluten-free. We’ve made these dozens of times and they’re a go-to for gatherings. If you don’t need gluten-free, regular flour works just as well in the recipe.

Banana bread has been a favorite to bake since my kids were small. I was skeptical about using gluten-free flour at first, but it turns out just as moist and flavorful. We often add chocolate chips and walnuts for extra texture and taste.
