Merry Christmas, friend. We began this Sunday series last week and scheduled this post in advance so we could take a couple of days off to be with family. If you’re reading this on Christmas, I hope you’re safe, warm, and surrounded by people you love in a cozy home.
This week’s weather has been difficult across the country, and many plans have likely changed. We received a lot of snow here in our corner of Washington state, but forecasts call for rain in the coming days. Heavy rain after significant snowfall can create new challenges, of course.
As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. Bad weather makes us especially thankful for a home that shelters us, and I suspect you feel the same. A warm, comfortable space becomes even more precious when storms roll through.
The holidays are not an easy season for everyone. Many people face hardships that go far beyond weather inconveniences. Our hearts go out to anyone who isn’t feeling merry right now—you are not alone. We are thinking of you and hoping the hope of this season reaches you in whatever you’re facing. Brighter days are ahead.
In this week’s Strolls and Scrolls, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the gift of a cozy home—a sanctuary in life’s storms. Below are a few warm, inviting rooms I’ve saved; I hope they spark ideas and comfort for you.
