13 Must-Have Home Gadgets on Amazon Prime Day Sale

Has anyone else been shopping online more than usual lately? Between groceries, supplements, and little household needs, I’ve come to rely on online ordering. We have groceries delivered, and we also order from local shops and restaurants for pickup. It’s not perfect, but it’s helping us keep a comfortable routine until things return to normal.

Today I’m sharing a few household gadgets I love that I ordered online. Since it’s Amazon Prime Day, many of these items are discounted or part of the Prime Day sale, so it’s a good time to find deals.

PSA: If you aren’t a Prime member, this is a great time to sign up or try the 30‑day free trial because of Amazon Prime Day. Prime members get access to extra deals and member-only discounts.

One note: Prime Day can sell out quickly. My rule of thumb is if I’d be disappointed to miss an item, I order it right away. Also, many of my books are available on Amazon if you’re looking for gift ideas—my Dwelling Well monthly journal is currently priced low with free shipping.

Below are thirteen of my favorite household gadgets.

1. My new vacuum

Years ago I invested in a Kirby that’s served us well, but when it needed repair I wanted a lightweight upright with a HEPA filter. I found one on sale that shipped the same day, and I was vacuuming the living room a few hours later. It’s affordable, effective, and convenient for quick cleanups.

2. Air purifiers

After a week of smoky air from nearby fires, I ordered a couple of portable air purifiers for our home. They’re compact, offer multiple settings for night and heavy-duty filtering, and help improve indoor air quality—especially useful if someone is back at college but still living at home. We also diffuse essential oils regularly, which adds a pleasant scent and extra freshness to the air.

3. My Instant Pot

The Instant Pot has become a go-to for fall and winter meals. My 6‑quart model is perfect for rice, beans, oatmeal, and spaghetti squash, and it makes cooking at home easier. There are many models suitable for beginners or for specific needs—great for batch cooking and quick family meals.

See this blog post for tips on using the Instant Pot for the first time.

4. Echo Show

I didn’t think I needed an Echo Show at first, but I use it every day now. It’s great for music, timers, weather, video, and quick news updates. We’ve connected it to our home security cameras, which makes it handy for checking on the property. Echo Dots around the house are also useful for voice controls and smart home tasks.

5. Dog hair clippers

We usually took our dogs to a groomer, but with more time at home we started trimming them ourselves. We invested in quality dog clippers and a couple of attachment blades—one for mats and one for finishing. It’s easier than we expected and saves time and money compared to frequent trips to the groomer.

6. Plug-in electric wall heater

This slim plug-in wall heater was a lifesaver in our lower level last winter. It plugs into a standard outlet—no electrician needed—installs easily, and keeps small rooms cozy. It’s discreet on the wall and perfect for bedrooms or bathrooms that need a little extra warmth.

7. Milk frother, espresso maker, and coffee grinder

I use these three daily for my coffee routine. I switched to a stainless steel milk frother that creates hot or cold froth and avoids non‑stick coatings. It heats and froths non‑dairy milk nicely while I prepare my coffee. A reliable espresso maker and grinder complete the setup for consistent morning drinks.

8. New oven mitts

We replaced old mitts with a sturdy pair that handle heat well and add a pop of color to the kitchen.

9. Lodge cast iron skillets

We prefer cast iron or stainless steel cookware for durability and health. Lodge cast iron skillets are versatile and last for years with proper care.

10. Cord covers

Cool cord covers help conceal unsightly cables and create a cleaner look around media centers and workspaces.

11. Small gold easels

These little easels are perfect for displaying art prints, recipe cards, or diffuser instructions beside a diffuser or on a shelf.

12. Fabric storage bins

I use fabric storage bins to store out-of-season clothing neatly in closets or under beds.

13. Plastic flip-top containers and similar bins

Flip-top containers work well for shoe storage and make it easy to see and access items. Similar stackable bins are useful for other pantry or seasonal storage needs.
