I love decorating my home, but more than aesthetics I focus on creating a healthy, comfortable environment. Whenever possible I combine beauty and wellness, so I created a winter wellness station that’s both a pretty focal point and a practical place to meet my family’s daily needs.
We use essential oils every day. They have become our go-to for many simple routines. More than a seasonal fragrance, these plant essences support daily wellness in practical ways.
If you want to get started with Young Living, you can order any products you like and I’ll invite you to the Dwell Well Collective education group.

A few years ago I stopped bringing products with toxic ingredients into our home. Like many people, I once relied on scented cleaners, air fresheners, and strong disinfectants to make the house feel fresh. Over time I realized those products often included ingredients that negatively affected our health, and I began replacing them with clean, plant-based products and pure essential oils.
I used to use harsh cleaners on dishes and surfaces, and fragranced products in the air and on my body. Sometimes the fumes caused coughing or irritation, and other times I’d enjoy the scent without realizing the longer-term impact those chemicals could have. Once I learned more about the risks, I made a conscious shift away from toxic formulas.

Most of the oils and many household products I use are from Young Living because I trust their sourcing and standards. After several years of use, I’ve grown confident in the quality and in the broad ways these products support our home: skincare, supplements, makeup, haircare, household cleaners, and more. Small bottles of concentrated plant extract have changed the way we care for our space and our family’s wellbeing.

I’ve always loved pleasant scents, but seasonal scented products and highly fragranced items that filled my home for years didn’t always serve me well. The popular holiday soaps, candles, and air fresheners I once bought often masked underlying concerns. Over time I connected my environment and the products I brought into the home with how I felt physically and emotionally.
At first I used a blend like Thieves simply to add a festive aroma, but I soon discovered essential oils offer so much more. Learning about their uses led me to rely on them for many everyday needs rather than toxic alternatives.

- to clean our home with natural solutions
Essential oils are a versatile part of our household toolbox. They’re often the first solution we reach for and have replaced many conventional products.

These days I embrace a plant-forward approach to wellness: we choose whole foods, avoid junk ingredients, read labels, and favor companies with clean standards. Our wellness station is tucked in the guest room closet, which keeps it central and convenient. The guest room also doubles as my retreat and creative space, so having the station nearby is both restorative and practical.
I enjoy creating rollers, linen sprays, and natural remedies there. It’s satisfying, cost-effective, and far less wasteful than the products I used to buy. If you’re starting out, you don’t need a large collection—just a few well-chosen oils can handle many everyday needs.
Some bottles on my shelves arrived as part of a regular wellness order, some are backups I don’t want to run out of, and some I buy to use as gifts or to make DIYs to share with friends in our community.

When I shifted toward consistent, supportive wellness habits and started using oils regularly, I noticed improved energy and overall wellbeing. That doesn’t mean oils cure everything or eliminate all health challenges—I still manage autoimmune issues and life’s stresses—but I do find I feel better more often and recover more quickly than I used to.
Because these changes helped our family, I enjoy helping others transition away from toxic products and learn practical ways to use essential oils. Many people receive a box of oils and aren’t sure how to begin; I love guiding new users so those oils don’t sit unused.
